What is your story

Last week, we published an article about creating your own business, which must be related to what you are passionate about.

Every business has a story, they are stories that can change the life of a future entrepreneur, today I tell you the story of Little Connexions,

Little Connexions was created in November 2015 for two purposes:

1. Connect businesses with users

2. As a point of reference for local or foreign people looking for a product or service.

Every company starts with a personal story, I have been an entrepreneur, a user and an expatriate at the same time.

I tell you the story of Little Connexions.

Connect with my essence: Upon returning to Colombia I made the decision to be an entrepreneur, I had a wrong idea of the entrepreneurial path, I started with textiles, I did not feel completely happy with that path, I thought that I would have liked it when I was in college, I thought In my thesis work “e-Business as a Marketing strategy applied to Business” had remained on paper, my dream was to make it a reality, today it is called LITTLE CONNEXIONS.

Upon returning to Colombia.

In 2010, returning to Colombia after 11 years living abroad, I arrived with the illusion of growing as a businesswoman and my products were going to sell easily. But it was not like that; I only sold in my circle of acquaintances and did not have much turnover. At that time, social networks were not used as they are today. I evaluated several options; among them: traditional marketing strategies, stationery, word of mouth and referrals, fairs, etc.; but I couldn’t accomplish my goal. I invested a lot without return, and an anecdote was that I hired the production of 1000 brochures, I distributed them and only one person contacted me.

How many entrepreneurs has this story happened to?

From that moment I understood that my business should be on the Internet. I created my own website and then the question was how to get traffic to my website?

After many trials and errors, I got to know and kept up to date with the new tools of the digital world (I had stayed with Dreamweaver); Little by little I began to apply them to my business and I began to see the results. It took me some time, it was a great opportunity to learn from my own experience what entrepreneurs go through and feel when they start to realize their dreams.

During this time I found several entrepreneurs, who were going through the same situation that I had experienced long ago, the ventures lacked support and accompaniment, which led me to think of the creation of Little Connexions to advise and help them in the growth of their companies.

During these 9 years I have learned many things, I am curious by nature, I think it is a fundamental characteristic to be here telling you my story, human beings by nature are dreamers and it is one of the most important means to achieve the objectives, why ?, in my experience when I dream of doing something an idea is formed and little by little I am taking the steps to get there, and if ¨ some dreams come and they are not what I thought, the only thing left for me is learning, satisfaction and peace of mind to do it.

On this path as an entrepreneur I have carried out different activities, courses, I have attended conferences, participated in workshops and accompanied colleagues and entrepreneurs, learning and learning about different topics and having the experience in each circumstance.
